Effective 15 July 2026. The Frame is run by Metic State Digital ("we"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: theframe@meticstate.co.uk.
Organisers. When an organiser registers (a club, fishery, league or an individual running matches) we hold the organiser name, a contact email address, a county, and the venues the organiser adds. To sign in you either set a password (stored as a salted hash, never readable) or use a Google or Facebook account, in which case we keep an identifier from that provider in place of a password. We use this to run the account. The lawful basis is contract.
Anglers named in reports. Organisers publish match results naming anglers and their weights. We display what the organiser submits. The lawful basis is legitimate interest: the reporting of sporting results, which clubs and fisheries have always published and anglers reasonably expect. If you are named and want a result amended or removed, see removal requests. We act on such requests; we do not require you to go through the organiser first.
Juniors. Placings marked as junior are published as first name and initial only, unless the organiser has confirmed it holds consent to publish the full name. That confirmation is recorded against the individual placing. A parent or guardian can require removal or masking at any time and such requests are prioritised.
Photographs. Organisers upload match photographs and are responsible for having the agreement of people pictured. If you appear in a photograph and want it removed, use removal requests. Photograph removal requests are prioritised, and requests concerning children are handled fastest of all.
Digest subscribers. If you subscribe to the weekly round-up we hold your email address and your chosen scope (a county or an organiser). The lawful basis is consent. Every email contains an unsubscribe link that works immediately and deletes your record.
Technical. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, request, time) for security and capacity. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Organiser sign-in keeps a token in your own browser to hold your session, and signing in with a provider sets one short-lived cookie to secure that exchange; neither identifies you to anyone else, and neither is used for tracking.
The service is hosted on Netlify with the database and photo storage held by our hosting providers, who may process data in the UK, EU and US under standard contractual safeguards. Venue and match-location postcodes (not personal data) are looked up against postcodes.io to place pins on a map. Our pages load web fonts from Google Fonts, and the public matches map loads its map tiles from OpenStreetMap and its map library from a public code CDN (Cloudflare cdnjs); this means Google, OpenStreetMap and Cloudflare each receive your IP address when the relevant page or map loads. If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, that provider handles the sign-in and confirms your name and email address to us; we never see your password for it. Email is sent through our email provider once the digest is live.
Account data: while the account is active. Published reports: while the organiser keeps them published. Edit history: retained so results that decide prize money can be audited. Subscriber records: until you unsubscribe. Data belonging to a deleted organiser account is removed with the account.
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing. Email theframe@meticstate.co.uk. We respond within one calendar month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If this notice changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting subscribers are notified by email.
